A day like few others

~Fate is like a guide that presents us with many paths but does not tell us where they lead to,
  the sky is the one thing in the world that I don't believe has changed,
  it used to be that there were tall forest standing on the land but they've been replaced by taller buildings,
  some of the water has gone from being blue like the sky to brown like mud,
  laughing and love is what people say can bring peace to the world,
  they only mean for themselves though,
  whatever was burned in the past has either been paved over with cement or deemed unimportant,
  actions speaking louder than one's words is a common belief,
  but what was the reason behind the action,
  nothing,
  words are still passed around even today but by the mouths of in-knowledgeable  people,
  the spirit is clean when it is born but becomes dirty from a persons actions,
  the voice in your head telling you to turn left instead of right may have a point,
  you couldn't make that decision by yourself,
  walls are built  by the ones that want to hide from their mistakes,
  when they cannot hide themselves they hide what they did wrong like children that wet the bed,
  the house still stands even after that terrible storm,
  is it still home or the figure of a bad inescapable memory,
  the tree in front is young and alive but seems to have a broken limb,
  I guess that damage was to be expected,
  the hole in the ground near the porch that was made to plant flowers became the lawn insects new pool,
  someone should tell that cricket not to sleep in the water,
  the welcome mat is still at the front door but only as a way to seem nice and friendly to others,
  because of the storm everyone is probably home instead of work,
  I open the door to find the t.v. on and all of them laughing,
  maybe laughing and love is what we need,
  " how was y'all s day", I said,
  "mine?, it was okay I guess, same old same old"~
